HOW TO OBTAIN A USPS MAILER ID
For envelope products, there are new rules that apply if you'd like to have your address barcoded. The application with the USPS is free and can be completed online in minutes. Using a Zip+4 will NO LONGER GENERATE A BARCODE as the USPS has moved to "Intelligent Mail Services". This new barcode will ensure your mail is sorted and delivered faster than the standard Zip+4 method which relied on the carrier routes.
When orerdering an envelope product you'll be provided a space to enter your Mailer ID (MID). The MID is required in order for us to print a barcode on your envelope products. To obtain a MID visit the Business Customer Gateway at USPS located at: https://gateway.usps.com/eAdmin/view/signin
If you do not have a login for the USPS, you can sign up for free. Once you have signed up, log in and click on MAILING SERVICES then in the list click on MAILER ID. To obtain your MID you will need to enter the Address that will be used on your printed product. If you have multiple locations YOU MUST create a separate MID for each location, this will create an Intelligent Barcode for each address. The MID generated corresponds with a barcode based on the address for faster sorting at the mail facilities. If you use an incorrect mailer ID for an address your mail could be delayed and your order will likely be delayed as our system tries to match the address and MID.
Please don’t confuse the USPS Issued CRID as the Mailer ID (MID). Your MID will be a 9-10 digit number that may begin with 9 or 6. If you have already placed your order, you may send your MID number to us via email, chat or phone to use on your order if you have received an email from customer service, or if the order hasn't transfered to production.
